Supreme Court Strikes Down Student Loan Forgiveness 😭 Here are three ways to make student loan payments suck less

Now that the Supreme Court has struck down Biden's federal student loan forgiveness plan (RIP), it looks like we're back to repaying what we owe. As we prepare for payments to restart in October, here are other ways you may still be able to lower monthly payments on your student loans:

🤑 Consider refinancing your student loans. Doing so could lower your payments by $250+ a month by extending your loan term. It could also reduce your interest rate, providing you with additional savings. However, it also means giving up federal loan benefits. Make sure refinancing makes sense for your particular situation before making a decision.

💵 Explore income-driven repayment plans through your federal loan servicer. If you are a low-income earner, switching to these plans may reduce your monthly payments.

💰 Look into a deferment or forbearance plan. If you are struggling to make your payments, you can see what repayment options are offered by your lender.
